Depending on what your family enjoys, you can spend an afternoon here hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, or picnicking. Camping facilities are also available for families who want to spend a night under the Arizona stars.
2. Take Your Family to the Annual Centennial Park Outdoor Family Campout
Every year in mid-April, the city of Kingman organizes our favorite family event in the city on Fields 6 & 7 of Centennial Park. Bring your family, some food, and camping gear, and spend the weekend enjoying spring in the park by day and night.
Roast some s’mores on the fire, stargaze, play camp games, and enjoy free food that the organizers cook up on the bonfires. And best of all, spend a weekend bonding with fellow Kingman families; trust us that your kids will make memories they won’t forget!
3. See America’s Best Vintage Cars at the Route 66 Fun Run
The Route 66 Fun Run is America’s premier vintage car showcase event, and if you’re a vintage car enthusiast (or even just a proud local of Kingman), is something you don’t want to miss. Held annually in early May, each year over 800 vintage and retro car owners spend a weekend driving down a historic section of Route 66 (passing through Kingman), with showcases, competitions, concerts, and other events planned on the route.
Check the official website for this year’s schedule of events, so you can decide what you want to attend and where you want to see your favorite vintage cars parading. You can choose to just attend one or two events near Kingman and then head home, or spend the whole weekend driving and hanging out with the participating car enthusiasts.
